I've just received this from Blackwell's........

I've written back to him and explained that we would appreciate the
discount but that we don't have any members as such. I've also
explained that the UK legal system is so strict when it comes to
clubs and societies that it makes it very difficult to run any club
or society in this country.

The advice that I've had is to continue to run things along the same
informal lines as we do at present and to ignore any requests to
produce membership cards. In that way no one can have a go at any of
us (unless of course someone assaults someone else - not very
likely).

I'll let you know if he writes back.
