I've not actually been into PCW (gasp!), but am I right in thinking that
they don't actually stock any linux gear at all? I may be overestimating
their willingness to get into stuff like this, but, . . . it could be used
as a sort of launching-pad to selling linux gear if they have any plans
along those lines. Heck, even if we can get it there just to educate the
staff it would be something ;)

I would have thought just for sheer entertainment value they ought to let
us in ;)) I think we ought to make our intentions very clear to them
though - we're not really there to say to people, hey, don't buy windows,
because a group of people in their shop telling their customers what to
buy what not to buy isn't likely to excite them ;) It should be made
clear that we'd just be there to demonstrate UN*X systems, perhaps we
could go under some high-end internet/file server pretence (!), perhaps
offer advice to people buying hardware to use w/Linux at home, as well.

I'm sure that PCW would have clear benefits from something like this, if
done correctly. It'd be educational for their staff, attract attention
from people who'd otherwise stay away from PCW, and make them look a
little more open knowledgable then they perhaps are ;)

Cheers,

Alex.

(If any of this sounds like I'm slagging PCW excessively; it isn't meant
to, I have no experience of the place, I'm just going on my experience
with other 'high street' retailers. Possibly biased experience ;)
