I would like some advice in setting up my two
machine network at home. What I'm after is a
kind of software map of what I need to setup
to achieve what I want.

One PC has a PCI modem (not a winmodem) that
works (kppp dials ok).
I would like this machine too

1. Collect email from multiple mailboxes (pop3)
and send the mail for a specific email address
to the other machine. As well as allowing both
machines to send email.
2. Collect news and allow the other machine to read
and send news.
3. Allow web browsing from both machines. Maybe even
keeping a web cache as my ISP (Telinco) does not
have a cache server.
4. Allow Telnet and FTP from both machines.

The network is a standard ethernet.
I'm using the KDE 1.1 Desktop.
What Software do I need to set up on both computers?

One problem could be that Telinco gives you email
address like name [at] telinco.co.uk, so your domain
becomes telinco.co.uk when connected.

I want to learn how to set up the software myself
but I'm just lost as to what is needed to setup in
the first place.

Any advice would be helpful.
