I've been playing with Wine over the last couple of weeks - the Mandrake
version, which is newer than the version PC Plus gave away a while a go,
if that means anything to anyone. I've had stuff running under it, very
impressive, but a little unstable at times and very slow to start. I've
tried running my own software under Wine, and it's a little more stable,
although I can fiddle with it to adjust function calls to stuff Wine
knows, the source code to wine is pretty transparent. I'm planning on
downloading mingw32 at some point in future to compile under linux as a
cross-compiler, which should be very interesting - I'd like to try out
wxWindows soon as well, and compare it to the Wine devel libs which I
haven't had a chance to use yet. I think wine has got so good because of
the corel involvement - their distro is supposed to be out soon, that too
will be something interesting I think .. .

Cheers,

Alex.
