Mulinux and samba
Hi!
I was just wondering if anyone has got any ideas on the following
situation: we have an ageing 386 with a 40 Mb hard drive here which we're
using as a printer server for a heterogeneous network of Win95/98, linux and
even some win 3.11 machines. At present, I have it set up with samba and
debian 2.0, but since I can't get hold of a bigger hard drive, the whole
distribution takes up most of the hard drive space, and as we all know, the
files which are served for the Word users are huuuuge. So I thought about
using a floppy distribution, so as to use as little hard drive space as
possible, so that I can use most of the hard drive as a spool directory.
Mulinux seems to be nice, as it is focused towards applications. However, I
just wanted to ask whether anyone's got any experience with these things
before I set out to try it out. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a suitable
hard drive to go into this machine, otherwise, debian would be fine...
TiA,
Jose
