Queen's Seal of Approval is Linux' crowning glory

Hello

Thought this might make you smile a bit ? Network News just fell
on me and on the front page it says.....

Linux has been 'throne' into the Tower with last we's announcement
that the freeware OS has been appointed to serve the servers of Her
Majesty the Queen. According to Netcraft-an internet monitoring
company that details which web servers are running which OS- the
Royal Family's web site was switched from Sun's Solaris to Red Hat
Linux at the start of the month. A former computer operator with the
Royal Household was surprised that the Palace had engaged in such a
radical technology shift: When I worked in Windsor Castle, they
still lived in the dark ages. Most of the staff still thought faxes
were fancy technology, Windows were something you looked through and
Red Hat was something you wore at the races, he said #

e-mail in the throne room eh ? I didn't know that the Royal cludgie
was so well connected :-)

Other stories are that Suns CEO Scott McNeally has gone nuts about
Linux.
