Just to illustrate Will's point: my vanilla P166+ used to have a disabled
parallel port (under Win) so I could use my sound card. After buying an
external Zip drive, I now have a disabled sound card so I can use the
parallel port. Can Windows make it all work together? Can it hell. Can
Linux? Yep. I'm going to keep trying under windows occasionally, but to be
honest I've given up hope really... the hardware *can* work together, but
Win98 doesn't allow enough customisation of the settings to let me get in
there and tell it how to work all this stuff.
