What do you mean by QT4L? I.e., QT is just a file format; any jobbins
video player will read a QT file. That ain't going to play the video
though, not necessarily. You also need to know about the codec. Where has
the file come from? If it's professionally generated, chances are against
you being able to play it. If it's a mainstream file using Cinepak, MJPEG
or some other such scheme you'll be able to play it. At the end of the
day, your best bet is Aktion! if you use KDE, XAnim if you don't. I have a
feeling you won't be able to see the clips; if it's off a website it's
probably using one of the new codecs they used on the Starwars clips; I
don't think they're penguinable as yet. NDA's and all that nonsense.
Also; if you search for Quicktime for Linux on freshmeat you will find
Quicktime for Linux. This isn't what you want; it's a programmer's API. I
have it, it's very good and I've written a class for it under KDE if
anybody's interested, but it won't play video files.
QT is coming for linux, I believe apple are developing it; it just isn't
here yet. And even the the Apple version was available, you still probably
wouldn't be able to play all the movies you'd like for codec reasons.
