Hi,

I am the acquisitions editor for trade computing titles at Pearson Education
publishers (publishing under the Addison-Wesley and Prentice Hall imprints) and
I am looking for authors for a possible new series of books aimed at novice
Linux users.

Whereas the new Windows user has a host of guides and handbooks to choose from
when he/she first gets started, the new Linux user is relatively poorly served
in this regard. As Linux moves more into the mainstream, one would expect
demand for clear and accessible guidance in Linux tools and distrubutions to
increase accordingly. The series we propose would offer step by step essential
advice (200-250pp) to the uninitiated and would also double as a quick and easy
reference for the up and running user. In other words, it is aimed at the lower
end of the market, strictly for consumers.

If you have any interest in writing for such a series, or you know of anyone who
might, I would be very keen to hear from you.

Thanks regards,
Michael
