Actually, that's not a bad idea. I was hunting around for a K ftp app a
while back, and I don't remember finding one. Although, theoretically, kfm
should do the job (i.e. ftp:// in the URL). I don't know how good the ftp
stuff is though; I don't remember it working well for me, but then I was
connecting to a dodgy system ;))

Freshmeat! Albatross! Get your fresh Albatross here!
On another subject, have you tried the SANE project ? (Scanner Access Now
Easy). It sounds like just the thing you're after.. can't remember an URL,
but it's certainly on albatross.net, er, freshmeat.net.
And for all the freshmeat fans out there - have you all noticed
freshmeat.mirror.ac.uk yet? I was downloading from there at over 50k/sec
the other day.(Adopts best Homer Simpson voice) Mmmmm, bandwidth ;).
And as for KDevelop - I have been playing around with it a little. It's
looking *really* impressive at the moment. I'm going to have a play with
the Dialog builder and stuff tonight, I think. But it's certainly quick,
and stuff. I just need to download KDoc now to get the full documentation
and things, but from what I've seen it's a very special app at the moment.
And having seen a project come out of GLIDE (one of the GNOME building
tools), which took me about an hour of hacking before it would run without
segfaulting my system, it's not half bad for a beta.
Cheers,
Alex.
