Hi!

Hi there!
As you may see from my sig. I am presently using an Amiga A3000
( much modified ) but since the Gateway disaster I like many Amiga users am
looking for a way ahead. I have looked at:-
M$? Err-No thanks!
Mac? too expensive!
AmigaNG third party G4+QNX? I don't know
Linux seems to have more serious support so I have been looking at Linux and I
am impressed, as a qualified C programmer who has done very little since he
got the qual. I see something in Linux that has so far enthused me again, it
could be for me.
So I've seen the hype, read the new mag, not yet got the tee shirt but
would like the fluffy penguin!
I live just down the road near the funny spire, I am 53 and run my own
very small one man business. I am possibly going to invest in a K7 Athlon box
at Xmas or there abouts, if Linux continues to impress me as I find out more.
I will be attending your meeting at the end of November Yes I know
When it is but someone has omitted to say Where it is on the web page 8-(
please advise.
OK now I am going to shut-up and lurk in the background to get the
feeling of the Linux community ( and not make a fool of myself ) you may find
a lot of X- Amiga users coming in your direction, as in the last week there
has been a lot of EMails on Amiga lists about Linux and 86k boxes
This has never happened before!! trust me.
Bye for now.

Yours,
Dave.

ps. I have been a beta tester for an Amiga art/image program called
Photogenics since it started, and now the programmer has just ported it to
Linux
