SAMBA

Hi all,

I'm having all sorts of problems. I now have my small network up and
running - almost. The problems I am left with are that:

1. I can't access the files on my windows boxes from the linux box. All the
instructions I have seen say I should make a directory on the linux box and
then link this to the windows machine using 'smbmount'. The problem is I
don't have the smbmount command and can't find out how to acquire it. I am
running RedHat 5.2, 2.0.36 kernel and the CD I loaded this off only had the
SAMBA rpm on it. I have since been to the Redhat site and downloaded and
applied the 'smbfs' rpm but, whilst this has given me the 'smbd' and 'nmbd'
commands which I was also lacking, I am still without 'smbmount' and
'smbumount'. Does anyone know where I should get them from or why I don't
have them? Alternatively, is there a way I can 'mount' the windows disks /
directories/ drives without these commands?

2. I cannot access the printer attached to the linux box from any of the
windows machines. When I try to do so I get a request for a password which
doesn't exist. I had a similar problem when I was initially setting up the
network and only got over it by commenting out the 'system = user' line in
the config file, however, I can't see anything similar to do as far a
printing is concerned. Does anyone have any suggestions either how to remove
the password requirement or how to set the thing up properly and install a
password?

Thanks,

Ian
