Try these two:

/usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/ESS
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/ESS1868

Next opportunity I get, I'm getting rid of RedHat. I just had sndconfig screw my
sound up. I hit cancel, and instead of doing nothing it half mangled
conf.modules
and isapnp.conf. Evil distro.
