the optimum MTU values can vary with every hardware configuration. If you
run windows, try using 'MTU speed'(http://www.mjs.u-net.com/), it will give
you the optimum value for MTU for your setup which you can then transfer to
'LINUX'

Sorry, but i'm too new to 'Linux' to recommend any software that does the
same under 'LINUX'
