Re: Dialup problem solved



the utility assumes that people want high download rates for large file
transfers so the settings are biased towards this. The main function of the
utility is to provide all the required settings such as RWIN / MSS / MaxMTU
/ PMTUautodiscovery / etc....... which are not all user definable as
default.

the optimum values are preset and have been determined for standard PC users
using standard modems. it does however, allow you to select automatic
detection/optimum or basic settings as well as a bit of an explanation of
what packet switching is all about. it also provides a user friendly
interface for testing your own MTU values so eventually finding the
'Optimum' values for your setup and internet connection at that time.
