It's not cool to call Dixons PC World workers names just because they
don't give a shit about PCs. They got their jobs because their bosses
thought they'd make good employees, not because of their IT knowledge
skills. It's the same everywhere, employers value certain qualities,
notably compliance, deference, the ability to look the part in a suit
tie, way above things like initiative genuine enthusiasm. A real
enthusiast would soon get weeded out of places like Dixons, because
they'd see what a shabby ripoff the operation is, might feel inclined
to treat customers with a little honesty. So they employ people who are
more interested in things like personal grooming, haircuts footwear
than IT. But blame the bosses for this, not people who're just trying to
earn a crust.
