I've been on to the German boffins on the i4L list (and a nice crowd
of people they are). They say that

1/ Lack of data exchange between my PC and the ISP can be a fault in
i4L sometimes. There is a quick and easy cure which I'm looking into
just now.

2/ isdnctrl doesn't seem to anywhere on the hard disk since I wiped
out SuSE 6.2 and installed 6.3. I'm having a look into this as well.

Few more days of playing about I think ?
