January Meeting

Well, the January meeting went down very well :-)

I was able to install and demonstrate Best Linux and Corel Linux
with my demo PC and much comment was made about both systems. About
10 people turned up over the five hour period. We discussed many
aspects of Linux and future developments like the 2.4 kernel and
pmcia drivers. Paul Sims brought his SuSE laptop along and all of us
were very impressed. I'm still saving up for mine :-) Lets hope
that we see many more events of this sort this year ? One of the
suggestions is for a BeOS and FreeBSD meeting where we can thrash out
the vagaries that we are presently suffering from when it comes to
these operating systems. Perhaps March would be a good time ?

The next meeting will be on the 12th of February at 20.00. This
will be an Indian soiree evening at the Jaflong at Crookes. Average
price UKP4.00 and 10% discount for students. I'll put further
details no the meeting.htm page before then.
