Another old newbie here...
RPMS are handled simply using kpackage under KDE. Remember to switch to
root
fire up xterm:
su root
password: 'yourpassword here'
then type kpackage and a graphical tool launches which makes things
easy.
I tell you something worth discussing at a LUG meeting: Your favourite
software for a variety of purposes.
Browser
Mail Client
File Manager
Graphics Package
Wordprocessor
etc
We could have our favourites with links put on the ShefLug website and
the reasons we like them and any problems and dependancies.
It would be really helpful for us non techies, though it may be a bit
below you command line gurus!
I hope to come to the next meeting in Feb. When is it? I can't do
Wednesdays or Fridays at the moment.
