Re: SuSE boot problems
Hello again.
Thanks for the latest messages re. booting SuSE. To reply to the points:
Alex, it definitely is char-major-15.
Stephen, I have a joystick connected to the computer as I once decided to
try MS Flight Simulator. I don't use it now and never play games (apart from
an occasional 'patience') on the computer. Thanks for telling me how to get
rid of the message.
Paul, I didn't explain things as clearly as I should. When in text mode I
close down with the command shutdown -h now. When in graphics mode, I log
off from KDE into KDM and click shutdown from there.
Craig, you're right saying the partitioning table I posted was the one SuSE
decided to use when installing with YAST2. I went to school very many years
before computer help files started, so I too much prefer the written word in
books. Anyway, I can't easily fix up my tower unit, keyboard and 17 monitor
to
read text files while I'm in the bath. Also the monitor face would get all
steamed up.
Cheers.
Keith
