Funny ftp...

Hey All.

OK...here`s the problem.

The small (two machine!) flat intranet that we`ve got setup here
doesn`t seem to like me accessing ftp services on my flatmates machine.

Both systems are running Redhat 6.1, kernel 2.2.14, and have all update
rpms installed from redhat.com, and *should* be configured identically.

/etc/hosts.allow for both machines read:

ALL: 192.168.0.1
ALL: 192.168.0.2

Which unsurprisingly should allow both machines full access to each
other. No. Not this time.

Telnet, finger, NFS, and IP masq works fine. ftp works from 192.168.0.2
(marlboro) to 192.168.0.1 (arrakis) but not the other way.

I get a ....connected to marlboro.... message, then it waits, and
waits, and waits (you get the idea), eventually I`ll get a `foreign host
has refused connection` or the like.

Anyone got any ideas about fixing this problem? It seems only to happen
after upgrading from the clean distro, to the updated version, but only
on the one machine (marlboro).

What is wrong?

Cheers, Baz.
