I presume that you have something like:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.0.1 arrakis.localdomain localdomain
(fields separated by tabs)
in /etc/hosts and (important) that 192.168.0.1 is associated with an interface
such as eth0 or dummy(0) with appropriate ifconfig/route commands. In that case
at bootup you want hostname to be set to arrakis. (If you are a RH
victim the /etc/sysconfig/network is the place to set this.) If you are using
sendmail then make sure you set up masquerading for your freenet account.
