RE: HOWTOs for the new newbies [was: procmail and kmail]



Internet connection is another howto - this is specific to getting mail 
running once on the 'net. Since there are links to the Owen Synge kppp page 
from the site this is needless duplication. The wvdial man page & 
wvdialconf are good enough for all but the most hard-of-thinking. Comment 
about ~/.fetchmailrc understood - it's difficult be more precise without 
actually giving real values. Also, a fetchmailconf-howto would involve lots 
of screenshots -  a bit byte-heavy. Ideally I want to keep this a text-mode 
howto.

Scripting - wvdial users may have problems as it does not seem to run 
/etc/ppp/ip-up. kppp etc will run scripts after connect so this is not a 
problem.

This is a work-in-progress, feedback appreciated. Relevant sendmail hack in 
the next version....
