Huh? Looks like it works to me? What's wrong with it?

I can never remember the difference between ', ", and `, and so I don't
use them except to say type 'all this in'; whereupon you should go to your
terminal and do the following:
bash% all this in
And yes, the command ls_-la_*whatever* (where _ = %20 = space) won't
exist, so this is correct behaviour too.
I think you're just nit-picking, you pedant ;)))
