Samba migration
Wearing my SpireLUG hat last night we started to migrate a live Mars_NWE
server to Samba, with Samba set up as Domain Master running NT-style login
scripts which attached the Samba users to their Netware-style user
directories. This worked first time - all we had to do was create a
netlogon directory, knock up a few dos batch files & restart samba to
export a netbios name.
It can't have taken more than 30 mins. Try setting up an NT server in that
time, with authentication & live data, and no reboots.
I love linux!
The Wulluf.
