To be honest, I wouldn't recommend Linux for anyone other than the
hobbyist. Everyone else can use whichever OS they like; be it Win, Linux
or whatever, they can use whatever they feel most comfortable with and I
wouldn't really try and get them to change unless there was a good reason
to (new machine, needed to use different software, etc.) - I mean, if
their computers work for them, why change?
Of course, if they want to start using something like LyX, or they're
interested in software development, and stuff like that, then they might
have a reason to change, but if they're getting everything from their
computers that they need at the moment a change probably isn't worth it..
I'm sure someone will take issue with this ;)))
