It can be done, but it's ugly.  The main thing that bothers me about 
mars_nwe is that the default is to have everything world-writable.  The fun 
part is that if you tighten up the Unix permissions (so one mars user can't 
read another's home directory), you can blue-screen your NT box by logging 
in, changing to another user's home directory, and doing a DIR in a dos box 
:-)  That was running Client32 on the NT box...
