 Not entirely sure I know exactly what everything does, but have a look
at the IP masq HOW-TO...in particular the script for rc.firewall. That`s
the one I use, and it works fine.
 I do NOT appear to have those two lines in my /etc/services file, and I
know I never added them to the std file.
