If you don't have any luck with the prior suggestions, there's
MicroMart, again available in Newsagents. UKP1 is the price, or it
was. I found that many people who sell their machines do so
because they dont use it enough to make it worthwhile. These
users are not aware of the falling prices in computer hardware. In
local ad papers I find a good deal of computers for sale which are
only marginally less then the cost of a new machine with the same
specs. (Assuming it's available) MicroMart seems to have a lot of
people selling who actually know the value of their machines. Or at
least did about 12 months ago when I last looked at one.
I hope you find what you want.
Also, what would you use the laptop for without X Windows? Non-
XWindows development? Putting documents together to then
exporting to another machine? It wouldn't be as a web server, and
you obviously have free internet access, so quite probably not for
checking your mail. Just curiosity you understand.
