In answer to the question, "Do wavs play" yes they do. I have 
managed to get an alright sound with xmms, by turning down the 
quality so I'm inclined to believe that the patch for linux to 
recognise cyrix may be helpful, just to increase the systems 
performance, as I read somewhere it is supposed to bdo. Hope 
fully it will improve it enough so that I needn't turn down the quality.
