You only really gain stability by switching to older versions. Of course,
there may also be binary-only modules or something else like that which
would force you to use it. Or being a Debian user :-P (just kidding,
deb-heads ;)

Certainly will be here. I want the promise stuff, new nfs & improved
networking & all that malarkey.

Firstly, it wasn't that long ago (at least, seems like it wasn't!), but
yeah, there were large teething problems. Many would argue 2.2 came out to
quickly, although 2.0.3x had been going *ages*. (About four years, or
something? Maybe that was just 2.0.x...)
