Thank you for your offer of an HP printer for rough work. I do occasionally
have to do work which needs to be good quality as it is seen by others, so I
will gratefully decline your offer.
I too still have an Atari stored up in the loft. What an excellent operating
system that was. Just a pity it wasn't developed. Mine has all of 2.5Mb of
memory and a speed of 8Mb. A fully fledged word processor about 2Mb long.
Most programs only had two files (program, and resource, not the hundreds
(?) which Linux and Windows use). My 80Mb hard drive had on all the programs
which I needed and was less than half full! Painfully slow, though!
Not criticising Linux in any way, just commenting on the compactness of
Atari programs.
