I think dial up is what corel called kppp on their distro. The content of
/etc/ppp/options on corel seems to conflict with kppp. The easiest thing
to do is to just move it out of the way.
su
mv /etc/ppp/options /etc/ppp/options-old
touch /etc/ppp/options
atb
