RE: [Sheflug] Debian Box

AFAIK Bob recompiled the kernel to include the old /proc/pci, as the system
couldn't detect your vga card properly with it as it stood, which is why X
didn't work.

If the mouse is serial, try renaming the modules dir (say,
/lib/modules/2.2.x.old) and remake the modules - cd /usr/src/linux, make
modules modules_install & reboot.

I've had oddities with serial mice where the serial module has proved
responsible - deleting/renaming it & recreating the mods & deps seems to
fix it.

If it's a PS/2 mouse check the kernel config & make sure PS/2 mouse support
is enabled. Finally, check /dev/mouse is pointing to the right port -
/dev/ttyS0, /dev/ttyS1, /dev/psaux.
