[Sheflug] ADSL and ISDN
OK,
BT didn`t seem to bothered when I asked about static/dynamic IP
addresses - immediately the chap at the other end of the phone guessed I
was looking at website hosting, and didn`t in anyway suggest this wasn`t
allowed/frowned upon.
As everyone has been saying, ADSL IP addresses are currently dynamic,
although there are plans to make static ones available. So sayth some
geezer from BTOpenWorld.
It turns out that ADSL will not be available in where I want it until
Q2 2001, apparently. Helpful.
Strangely, surftime is going to be available at the end of August.
I`ve just been looking into ISDN, and I was wondering if anyone can
give me ideas of cheapish ISDN cards that run with Linux.
To be honest, I`m not sure I`ll bother with ISDN, but I`m looking over
it anyway.
Does anyone run ISDN, and do you have any comments on it?
Cheers,
Baz.
