Check out the documentation for the software you're going to use. The
author of cdrecord has some interesting things to say about the Linux SCSI
subsystem (like the API, such as it is, is a mess <g>). I'd always pick a
SCSI writer, and found a Sony 926 (I think - cdrecord used an internal 924S
driver for it, but it definitely wasn't a 924S) very reliable - the only
coasters I made where the result of a bad image (a friend made a Red Hat
iso image, and forgot to set the right file modes...). I don't think
you'll find any of them around now, though :-(
