I'm giving up with SuSE, to go back to summat a little more streamlined in
the form of Slackware. I have to say, I got a huge shock when my trimmed down
installation of SuSE back in late August last year ate up about 750MB of /usr.

SuSE is a good installation...it comes with more than everything you need to
set a box up, but I've spent too many hours working out if I need
libwidget.so, libcorkscrew.a and libkitchensink.so.

For me, its too big. Slackware is simple, and doesn't put much to get in the
way of administring a box (although I've got Yast doing what it I want it to
now, rather than it reset symlinks and permissions on files).
