Hear, hear!

Debian binary kernels come pretty close to stock; you never see much
past -2 or -3 in the package version.  They also provide a kernel-
packaging package, make-kpkg, which means you get the version tracking
convenience of the PMS with pure Torvalds sources (plus any patches
you personally choose to add).
