Eeeeeeee gads.  :) I thought you were an advocate of dumb software? :)

Although, I somewhat agree with you. To my mind, the gcc package *shouldn't*
request binutils, libc, stuff like that, it should just be gcc. But
potential developers should be able to get linux-dev.rpm or something
similar, which would include a 'proper' development environment, rather than
having to download all the bits they need (which would be obvious bits, of
course. Obvious once you'd tried to use the package and it didn't work ;)
