[Sheflug] file manager lock-up's
hi,
can anyone help with this one?
i've been having trouble with KFM...... when i look at one particular
directory on my DOS partition, KFM locks up! the only way round this is to
'ctrl' 'alt' 'F1' and log in as root... kill kdm (as Xsession seems locked
also) where upon kdm auto restarts. then loging in as root again, killing the
kfm process. this then allows me to log in as a normal user and access as
normal (apart from the one DOS directory).
i can access no probs with the gnome file manager / terminal and windows.
scandisk shows no errors and fschk won't look at vfat partitions!
i upgraded to KDE1.93 and the same happens with konqeror!
the files are not corrupt and i've tried removing the '.directory' file in
the root of the DOS partition.
all other DOS partitions are fine.....
the effected partition is mounted with
/dev/hda1 /win98 vfat
user,exec,nodev,nosuid,rw,conv=auto,uid=501,gid=100,umask=7 0 0
can anyone tell me where i should go from here?
