This is probably the infamous RH 6.0 missing font problem, as root do:-

/usr/sbin/chkfontpath --add /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi

AFAIK mozilla doesn't do Java on Linux right now. And Netscape is just
buggy. It usually works for most applets, but expect more than a few
crashes.
