Doing that now, but ppp is unreliable (read: it's dog slow). After turning 
off all compression negotiation and disabling it, I got the speed up to a 
more respectable 2k/sec from a dire 0,7k/sec. May try slip ... need to see 
how easy openbsd/solaris is to config the slip. OpenBSD uses the same ppp 
setup as linux so its straight forward. Solaris ppp (at least on 2.4) is a 
dog and needs some UUCP config as well - all attempts to get it working have 
so far failed...

If anyone knows what can cause a burst of packets for about 20kb (this is on 
an FTP transfer), a then pause for a couple of minutes, another 20kb burst 
and so on and so on, let me know...at least I can increase the packet rate 
and decrease the delay when I switch all compression off...
