no.... you shouldn't need to wire them together..........
when you copy music files, it's just the same (almost) as copying data disks.
once you get the drive installed and run some of the cd burning packages it
should become clear........
the sound link is there so you can play music cd's 'directly' to your speakers.
if you really want this 'feature' then you could link the line out of the cdrw
to the external line in of the sound card (bit messy though)
