[Sheflug] Proposed talk by Jeremy Allison
Jeremy Allison, the co-author of SAMBA (along with Andrew Trigwell),
happens to be Sheffield born and bred, and will be here over Christmas
to visit his parents etc.
He's asked me to ask around to see whether there would be any interest
in him giving a talk while he's over here.
Some of his standard talks are:
generic SAMBA talk
SAMBA internals (deeply technical)
How to maintain quality in Open Source Software
How to port NT apps to Linux
WinNT - a Linux perspective (3H long!)
He's going to be in the UK from approx 20th Dec - 3 Jan.
The main thing would be to find a venue. Anyone got any ideas?
Anyone want to volunteer to organise this? :-)
NB not only is Jeremy the author of SAMBA, but he is a leading light
in the OSS movement - his conversations tend to be along the lines of
"as I was saying to Linus on wednesday ..." ;-)
