Re: [Sheflug] suse7.0
This is probably of no help at all, but I've just successfully installed SusE7.
It found my Soundblaster AWE64, STB Video card, Epson 670 printer (660 driver)
without any problems (fortunately). It has correctly configured WVDial and the
Kinternet front end works.
The only problems I have found so far, are that there were no CDROM and Floppy
icons on the ROOT KDE desktop, so I have had to put them there manually. The
only other thing I haven't sorted is that I can no longer install an application
from a magazine cover disk using YAST2. I have to copy the application on to
the hard drive first. The older version of YAST2, which was also on SuSE6.4,
worked on the earlier SuSE and I could install stuff, but not now it's on SuSE7.
The new version of YAST2 appears to only install applications from the SuSE
disks, and I can't find any way of installing other applications with it.
However, when I have read the manuals I may find out what I am doing wrong.
The new manuals are excellent, full of very useful information, and a very good
addition to the package.
Just my comments on it........
Cheers
Keith
