Is reinstalling the libc-dev package unthinkable?

Most modern distros use a "standard" set of kernel includes, not
"whatever is current".  This is the recommended procedure by glibc
(and Uli Drepper flamed me for reporting a bug because he though I was
using 2.4.0 headers instead of glibc-dev headers).
