[Sheflug] Qmail queue directory hassles.

Morning All,

After upgrading to RH7 (then ripping out Sendmail, xinetd, down grading
gcc and libs, etc, etc) I've found that my qmail (v1.03) install is some
what dead.

Local -> local mail is AOK.

 Local -> remote is useless.
I don't do Remote -> local but it is also broken...

Telnetting to port 25 yelds the following error -

[baz@flux baz]$ telnet 192.168.0.1 25
Trying 192.168.0.1...
Connected to flux.localdomain (192.168.0.1).
Escape character is '^]'.
alert: cannot start: unable to switch to queue directory
Connection closed by foreign host.

The alert: line is from qmail...

I've tried rm -rf /var/qmail/ and doing a make setup check again, and
I've tried running queue-fix, but the error persists.

What is the problem, and how do I fix it? Even if this means
*completely* removing the Qmail install, in which case someone will need
to enlighten me to exact what is installed where - the install screens
don't give much info...

 Cheers.

 Baz.
