Last I heard was that Star Office spread sheets go down very well with
medical people.  Other one was that there's an Australian developer
who has produced some veterinary software for Linux that can be used
with people.  It's a sort of medical database.

Other than that we need to encourage our medical people to improve
medical care by not spending money on software.  Perhaps if some of
them were to take a greater interest in software and computers ?  My
own GP has not bothered to install or use MS Windows because of the
"enormous cost" he says.

It might be that an "adopt your GP" campaign is the thing we need ?
