FCS = First Customer Shipment. After the FCS release, updgrades are
released as DU (Driver Update) patches. So your system will usually
go something like 2.8 FCS, 2.8 DU1, 2.8 DU2... until the FCS release
of the new version.

P.S. Solaris 2.8 FCS doesn't officially exist. It's Solaris 8 FCS. Isn't
marketing wonderful?
