In this particular case the OM10 user would seem to be mostly
uninformed about digital cameras. The original JPEGS that the C-960
generates are about 250K in the hi-res mode. These are good enough
for publication anywhere. The extra hi-res mode produces some amazing
results. However, none of these can be used on a web site unless the
viewer of the page has an ADSL or ISDN link. They have to be
re-processed by Gimp and Craig Andrews so that Paul Sims who has a
slow link can view them on his laptop. If Craig doesn't cut the
pictures down then Paul and other people with slow links can't see a
page or a picture.
Any requests about photographic technology to myself. I had to study
it for five years whilst learning how to press a button on a camera.
Those were Hasselblads, Sinar, Nikon and hundreds of others. And of
course, many years of film stuff as well.
By the way, if you haven't tried Gphoto in SuSE Linux or any other
distribution then I suggest you try it right away. The end result is
quite good.
So, there you are :)
Thanks
